Work in Progress

Lunchtime view out of our studio window looking East towards Grassmarket. Taking the line weights for a walk across the rooftops! Not a bad view to sit and sketch after a morning clearing out the studios after our undergraduates have all finished.

Decided to walk home from work and came across this lovely courtyard scheme at Buccleuch Place Lane. Amazing flower border and some interesting architectural placemaking.

Back to urban sketching today, and have stepped up the thicker line weight, but forgot the thinner one, so still a technique 'in progress' as they say.

Horsecastle Bay on the walk along to St. Abbs Head Lighthouse this afternoon. Lovely blue sea and skies and a different subject matter to sketch.
